30 weeks

I cannot believe I am officially 30 weeks! Where has time gone?! 10 weeks left (give or take a few)! That is bananas! ;-)

How big is the Baby?
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage or a squash). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face (via babycenter).

How Life's Changing
30 weeks - at my parents house in MI
I am sleeping pretty awesome as of late. I am mostly sleeping through the night (with the exception), the crazy thing is - no matter how much I sleep I still feel so exhausted. Really people, it's crazy. Most days I feel like I am sleep walking through my day. Not good.

I am still dealing with those pesky leg cramps that I talked about in my post last week. I asked my doctor about them and she said shin pain isn't really pregnancy related, but could have something to do with the extra weight I am now carrying around. I wish that there was a easy fix. Apparently, I just need to stretch and ice (like I would do before I was pregnant) and hopefully the pain will lessen. Here's to hoping!

How I'm Feeling
I had a mini-breakdown after my doctor's appointment this week. Nate couldn't come with me (the first time since the whole pregnancy) so I was already bummed and then I felt rushed (to get there and back to work) my Doctor is in Nashville where I'll be delievering which is about 20 minutes from my work and of course she was on call today and running very behind.

Long story short, I was already flustered and then received the lovely news that...I gained 6 pounds over the last 2 weeks. Yeah, not a big deal to most of you, right? You're all thinking the same thing...you're pregnant. Can I be real with you? It still sucks.

I know it's "good" and clearly I am not doing anything to not gain weight. Honestly, I feel judged. I feel like I can be open and honest about everything else regarding pregnancy, but I'm not allowed to say, "It's depressing to gain 6 pounds over 2 weeks." I agree, it's not healthy to not gain enough weight, but people it's also not good to gain too much weight either. In no way do I think I have gained too much, but let's be realistic. I still have 10 weeks left. Maybe it's my fault for being so open about everything. Who knows. Nate was so sweet last night - he made a comment about how he has no idea where all the extra weight has gone (besides my belly). He's a liar, but a keeper. Love that man. Alright...enough of that!

This past weekend I went home to Michigan to hang out with my parents. It was a fun, relaxing time and I am thankful that I have parents that I enjoy spending time with!

My Mom surprised me on Friday (shortly after I arrived) saying she had scheduled a prenatal massage for me on Saturday morning. Glorious day! I was so excited...my back has been so sore lately and I've always had problems with my neck/shoulders, even before I got pregnant.

People...the massage was glorious. I honestly wish I could get one at the end of every week! Haha. I am going to save up and try to at least get one more before baby arrives! Maybe around 34-35 weeks?

I also ate like a maniac while I was home and didn't workout once. Oops. ;-) I mean, how can you not stop and get ice cream and fudge at Kilwin's when you're near one?! You'd be crazy not too!
I love their Raspberry sorbet. Delish.
Before we stopped at Kilwin's we walked around downtown Ann Arbor and around the Law Quad on the University of Michigan campus. So pretty.
Love the architecture

So pretty
It brought back so many memories. The year before I moved to Colorado I lived in Ann Arbor. It was one of the best years of my college life. I loved it and created some great friendships that year. Ahh, memories. However, it did feel a little weird walking around a college campus with a baby bump. It made me feel old! Ha!

I cannot wait to go back to Michigan in just a few short weeks (for my MI baby shower) when the leaves are changing and we can go to a Cider Mill! Yummy! Fall in Michigan is my favorite!

Lastly, we did some shopping. I was on the hunt for a "coming home" outfit (for the little man to wear when we leave the hospital) but couldn't really find anything that I loved...but I did find these awesome kicks...
Infant Puma's. Every kid needs a pair...right? ;-)
My Mom and Dad may have bought them for our little guy and some super awesome Puma socks that look like shoes. He's already so spoiled and stylish! ;-)

Cute story of the week: My newphew Colton (almost 3) was playing with my sister and their conversation went something like this...
Colton: "Hi, I'm baby "nugget"
Lindsay: "Where is baby "nugget" right now?
Colton: "At Aunt Jenn's house...in her belly!"
P.S. We have a name picked out for our little guy, but aren't quite ready to share it with the world...just yet! ;-)
