21 weeks

After my baby shower. Last day of week 21!

Week 21...you've been a fun one. I can honestly say that I am really enjoy pregnancy now. So many great things happened this week. Not only was my (Jenn's) entire immediate family in town, but I also had my 1st baby shower...where we announced the gender of the Lil Nugget! ;) Keep on reading to get all the deets!

How Big is the Baby?

The nugget is now the length of a carrot or the size of a banana: Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.

How I'm Changing

I love the fact the my stomach keeps getting bigger and rounder. Like I said, week 21 has been good. I feel great and continue to feel the baby move more and more every day! I hope I never get used to that feeling, it's really so cool.

It is interesting, I definitely feel like I am getting bigger and showing, but almost every time someone finds out I am 21 weeks pregnant that comment about how small I am. Funny. It's all about perspective!

How I'm Feeling
I feel great am really starting to enjoy and embrace pregnancy (it only took 21 weeks)! Ha. Honestly, I love that my belly is getting bigger as each week passes. It helps remind me that I really am pregnant and have a human growing inside of me!

I wasn't as active as I wanted to be this past week, but oh well...sometimes you just need to live a little, not to mention we were SO busy. Between work, the 4th of July holiday, playing with my nephew, and hanging with my family there wasn't much time to exercise, but it was so worth it!

In general, I am getting more and more excited about baby. Starting to plan what we want the nursery to look like is a fun distraction and I can't wait to share my ideas with you.

I'm also still scared. People are telling me that it will be November before I know it and even though I love it and cannot wait to meet our lil' nugget, it totally freaks me out. I feel like I need time to slow down so I can process everything and get all the logistics figured out. Ugh, Lord...I need peace! :)

Last week Nate and I found out if we were going to have a little girl or little boy. We kept it a secret from "the world" until my baby shower (see pictures from baby shower below) and that has made the pregnancy and baby seem so much more real and it's so exciting! Watch out world, because Nate and I are having a...

BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We couldn't be more thrilled. Nate is so happy (he wanted a little boy SO bad) and I am thrilled to have a son. I loved the idea of having a boy first! Yay!

Okay, now for some baby shower pictures. It was such a fun evening and I feel so blessed to have friends and family that love me, Nate and the Lil Nugget. Thanks to everyone who came and my sister for all of her hard work putting it together for me (as well as: Jamie Heard, Cari Hines and Jamie Hamilton)!
